In 2010, the Montana Department of Labor and Industry conducted a survey to estimate the number of "green" jobs and businesses in Montana. About 3.6% of Montana's workers are employed in green jobs, and about 22% of Montana's businesses were involved in producing a green product or service.
Researchers at the Montana Department of Labor and Industry discovered that less than a third of workers retain a job for four quarters after being hired. This article explores the causes of and possible solutions to Montana's short job duration problem.
