On January 1st 2013, Montana’s minimum wage will increase to $7.80 from the former minimum of $7.65, which is $0.55 higher than the national minimum wage of $7.25. Montana’s minimum wage increases annually to adjust for inflation based on the national Consumer Price Index for Urban Consumers. State-level minimum wages will be higher than the national minimum in 19 states. The state of Washington will have the highest minimum wage in the nation at $9.19.
